CORONAVIRUS – We have started back volunteering in small groups of 6. We hope to re-open to new volunteers soon – watch this space!
Norwich Environmental Weekenders (NEWS) meets on Sundays to carry out valuable conservation work on some of the most important and attractive nature reserves in Norfolk. Management work is undertaken in the wetlands, woodlands, heathlands, grasslands and coastal area of Norfolk. Throughout the year we are involved in various practical tasks ranging from scrub cutting and pond clearance to fence construction. Our leaders provide guidance on the safe use of tools so you don’t have to be experienced to join in and enjoy the work. A walk around each site allows you to see some of its wildlife and enables the leader to explain the work we are doing.
If you would like to join us, meet outside 72 The Close (NR1 4DR) at 10.00 am (unless otherwise stated in the programme) with your lunch, waterproofs and wellies. A mini-bus will be waiting to whisk us off in effortless comfort into the countryside.
Please ensure that your tetanus immunisation is up to date.
